This is the high power 2400ws Basic Head and is a great value. It has high quality circuits and uses the same flashtubes as the bigger Heads but in a smaller molded enclosure so they are also less expensive. They are electronically the same as the larger heads except for the lack of the household sync jack. It is true that the "Basic" Extra Small Heads are the only Heads currently offered without a modeling light which is one of the reasons that it is less expensive than all the rest of the Lumedyne Heads. It also saves money by avoiding duplicating the Power Pack's ready indicator on the Head. This is the best value for a Flash Head that just flashes, and does it well. This Head includes a grid and diffusor set with the reflector and 2400ws Quartz non-modeling Flashtube (AFSQ).

This amazing Ringflash can fit most lenses with a 100mm opening and most cameras with a fully adjustable "H" mounting bracket included. The glass front protects the high power flashtube rated from 3ws to 1600ws which sets in front of 12 high power white LED modeling lights. All of this is in a lightweight ABS molded enclosure with a handle that finishes with a 3 to 7 foot coiled cable. This Head works with all generations of Power Packs and can be boosted up to 1600ws.

The HQRS has the high power Quartz Flashtube to be better suited for the Action Packs or use over 800ws. The Next Generation Heads look the closest to the old classic design because they have the round cylindrical shape to the body. The attached five foot long straight Head Cord will connect to any Lumedyne Power Pack. There are two sync jacks on the rear of the Head, both the household style and the mini-phone sockets are available near the buttons for the modeling light and test flash. The Head includes the 2400ws flashtube, modeling lamp, five inch reflector, two diffusors and a metal snoot.

The HQRC has a 2400ws Quartz Flashtube plus a modeling light. The Next Generation Heads look the closest to the old classic design because they have the round cylindrical shape to the body. The attached 3-7 foot long Coiled Head Cord will connect to any Lumedyne Power Pack. The Deluxe Signature Head with Quartz Flashtube is very strong with the square metal shell but it's still only about one pound. It's sold separately from the Head Cables to allow you to select from 5 to 20 foot options. It works with any Lumedyne Head Cable or Head Extension Cable. The adjustable beep that indicates that it is ready again works with all of the Power Packs. The HQDM Head originally does include the reflector, 2 diffusors, a metal snoot and the 2400ws Flashtube and a 25 watt modeling bulb. Deluxe Heads are compatible with some separate TTL Modules from Metz™ for limited digital cameras and most film cameras but not Canon™, Nikon™ or similar digital cameras.
